About Ford New Holland:

New Holland, which originated with a single corn mill in Pennsylvania in 1895, expanded into farm implements and achieved success with automatic hay balers. Acquired by Ford Tractor Operations in 1985, the company began to use the Ford New Holland name on tractors. In 1990, Ford sold a majority interest in its farm machinery operations to a foreign company called FIAT, with the condition that the Ford name be dropped within ten years.

Tractors were subsequently released under two names: New Holland in traditional Ford tractor markets and FIAT in their traditional markets. In 1999, Case IH and FIAT New Holland merged to form CNH Global (Case New Holland), which continues to manufacture tractors under the New Holland brand.

New Holland produces both agricultural farm equipment and heavy construction equipment, including backhoes, skid steer loaders, excavators, mini excavators, and wheel loaders. The models covered in this Illustrated Master Parts List Manual include the 555E Tractor Loader Backhoe.
